WHAT'S NEW!
SUBLINGUAL THERAPY FOR ALLERGIES: "Curing" Your Allergies Without Shots Allergies are among the most common and costly health problems, affecting one out of every four Americans. We have a full service allergy department offering state-of-the-art testing and treatment options for airborne and food allergies (multi-test and MQT methods). After identifying the problem “allergens” we provide advice about realistic avoidance strategies, multiple medication options, as well as immunotherapy choices for the select population who wish to go for “the cure.” We offer standard weekly injection immunotherapy and the less invasive, more convenient and flexible "shots without shots" -- sublingual therapy or allergy drops. We have streamlined the process to complete allergy testing in about one hour, enabling our highly-trained staff to diagnose offending allergens, create customized treatment vials and get our patients on the pathway to allergy relief in a few days. Sublingual therapy - "shots without shots" is a great option for those who are unable to commit to weekly shots, children, asthmatics, highly sensitive people, those with chronic sinusitis, mold allergies and multiple dust, pollen and animal allergies. We have years of experience with a growing sublingual therapy population of happy patients who are symptom free and off medications. Please inquire at your visit if this therapy might be an option for you. PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT, LIVIA KOHN, PA-C Physicians Assistant Access Makes Your Visit With Us Even More Comprehensive: Livia Kohn PA-C, is a highly trained Physician Assistant (PA) who has an impressive background. She graduated from SUNY Health Science Center in 2004. She is nationally certified and is licensed to practice in New York State. Prior to joining Rockland ENT over 2 years ago, Livia worked for over 10 years in a very busy Pediatrics practice in Brooklyn. She understands the back office functioning of a medical office. In addition, she has a deep and broad understanding of the many issues affecting children, the effect of illness upon the entire family and the social settings of the child. Livia worked on a neurosurgery team and in an urban emergency room which added to her experience and knowledge regarding medical care in an inpatient hospital setting. She has taken a special interest in supervising the allergy department in both testing and treatment and has acquired a proficient grasp of ENT conditions evaluated in our office. Livia spends her “spare time” teaching CPR, First Aid, and Aquatics, leading hiking expeditions and being a new wife and mother. We are thrilled to have her as a full-time part of our team.
